Sid loves tacos. I can’t believe how much he loves tacos. Almost every night when I pick him up from the sitter he says we are having some kind of tacos. Usually he asks for ‘bacon tacos’ something I have never made. When pretending to cook, he is usually cooking tacos, recently it was chicken tacos, but he has also made waffle tacos.
So I figured he needed some tacos this week for dinner. Tonight I am going to a book signing event so Dad has charge of dinner, and after him working all day I decided pizza was a great idea. I admit right now that I am sure I will stick to making soup on Sunday, but I am gonna try!
My cousin is running a half marathon the same weekend I am running my 15k. So she needs to get her miles in and start tapering off to be ready for her half. I on the other hand really only need to prepare to do 10 miles in a couple of weeks.
Since I haven’t ran more than 4 miles in a while, I took it slow and I only ran 9 miles instead of 10. I also had to do some walking in there, and the rest of the ladies sometimes stopped and waited for me to catch up (even though I told them not to). For the long runs, it’s not about the time, it’s just about the distance.
When we got to the 4 mile mark I knew I didn’t want to run all 10 miles, cause we still had to go back to where we started. I told them to go ahead and we would meet up on their way back. I walked a little and ran a little till 4.5 miles, then I turned around and headed back, I stopped a couple of times to wait for them, but got cold and board so I kept moving. They caught up to me and passed me on the return, but I was ok with that.
I like the group run, but I like the solo runs even more. This worked out nice because I get the fun of a group run after and during pit stops, but I can kind of run by myself (with them all in front of me). A little of both worlds.
Lately I have been running while at work, taking a break to get 3 miles on the hill done. I realized I don’t like running at night anymore, I am just too tired. And if I am being honest, that is really the time that I get all my crafting done. I can’t function in the morning, so if I do try to run I am super slow. It is really great to run in the middle of the day, and it is a nice break from work. I also enjoy it because the weather here has been so nice, if I waited till the boys went to bed I’d have to go to they gym and I wouldn’t get to run outside.
My cousin wants to do 11 miles this weekend….
Just. Keep. Running.
Just a reminder that with my running I am raising money for St. Jude’s Hospital, click on the picture below to donate.
It has been awhile since I participated in a craft challenge. A new challenge over at SVG Cutting Files started on the 15th (theirs run 15th-14th of each month) with a theme of “Spring Treat.” I thought it was a perfect break for me because I love to make treat bags and boxes and wanted something with a bunny on it.
I actually found this bunny slide card and loved the little bunny on it. I used a gift bag file that I have from SVG Cuts (not part of the challenge). I duplicated the grass from the slider card to wrap around the bag.
Of course I had to use my sketch pens to write “Hoppy Spring” on a little egg.
Who knows, I just might have to make some more for Ian’s class mates.
I am so happy for this holiday right now. I really need to finish up making Ian’s invitations. Cause they need to get in the mail this week. So I will be doing a lot of crafting today.
But that also means that I planned something for dinner that takes a little more effort, because I have the time. I am always so rushed during the week that I like to make something a little more time-consuming on my days off.
I wanted to cook something different with ground beef, and boy was I having a hard time finding something new. I am taking the recipe on Wed, and changing it to ground beef instead of chicken. That recipe is also gluten-free and works for a Paleo diet, I however, will be altering it because my family is neither of those.
