We are a team of Mother (&Father) Runners who want to raise money and make a difference by participating in the 2017 Providence Hood & Portland To Coast Relays, “The Mother of all Relays.”
For almost 20 years I have wanted to participate in the Hood to Coast relay race. This will be my second year participating as a fundraising team. What does that mean you ask? Well, as a fundraising team the 12 of us will raise $10,000 for Providence Cancer Center. Instead of a small portion of our race fees going to the charity 100% of the money we raise will go to help #FinishCancer.
We have all been impacted by cancer in one-way or another. For some it is a diagnosis given to a loved one, for others it is the diagnosis told by your own doctor. Some have lost the battle, some have won, and some are still fighting. Great strides have been made in the area of cancer research, treatment and care. While Providence Cancer Center will continue to do just that, it can’t do it alone. Our team is working on spreading the word of how important Providence Portland medical Foundation is to our community and also asking for donations to meet our goal of raising $10,000. All proceeds raised will be given to the foundation.
