I belong to a few Silhouette related Facebook pages. They are a wonderful support group for beginners and experienced users.
More and more I see questions about tracing images in the Silhouette software in order to make them cut files. This is one of the main reasons I decided to go with the Silhouette brand cutting machine.
You are able to take any image and make your own cutting file. I make a lot of decorations and invitations in Photoshop, then cut them with my Silhouette.
However, the tracing tool in the software is not that intuitive, so there is usually a number of questions about tracing. I put together this power point to help someone with tracing and thought I would share it with everybody.
Please note, I have the second version of the software, as I have not taken the plunge and upgraded to the third version. While the settings and option are the same, their location and how you do things might be different. I also have the designer edition, but everything in the tutorial is available in the standard addition.
You would think with the days getting longer (and by longer I mean more day light time) I would be getting more running in.
But I am not. In fact, I think I am running less.
I had been getting board running at the gym, but don’t want to run alone outside at night, in the dark. A couple of times I have tried to run after dropping the kids off, but I can only get 2 miles in before I have to go to work. And last week, it was only 1.5 miles before I had to go to work. Which is about 11.6 miles less than a half marathon.
I know what the problem is….it’s work! If only I didn’t have to work, I would be able to run more. Or if I had a jogging stroller, I could take the kidos with me.
I have also been having difficulty with the time commitment…

For me to run any distance, takes about an hour. And realistically I just don’t have an extra hour in my day, unless I take it out of my sleep time. But then I am more tired, which makes it hard to run…. But really I am just making excuses, right?
But Sunday night I got four miles in and watched a show on Hulu+ while at the gym. I am trying to alternate days, so I will try again tonight.
I am going to run a 10k before my half and I sure hope I can finish it….
Just. Keep. Running.

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!
I would like to tell you I have a fun Cinco de Mayo menu planned for tonight, but I don’t.
I kinda forgot about it when I was menu planning and since I have already been to the store, it is too late to change it. Plus we just had Mexican food….
I am feeling in a cooking rut lately and I am having a difficult time coming up with dinners. Between Pinterest and my Plan2Eat menu planner/recipe book, I have tons of options, I just can’t seem to decide what to cook.
You might not know it, but I don’t really like food. There are somethings I can enjoy eating, but I would prefer not to eat. This has nothing to do with calories or weight gain or anything like that. I just don’t really like food, or the whole eating process, but I do like to cook.
So sometimes it gets hard to cook, because I don’t take pleasure in the eating, everything becomes a chore.
At least I know it will pass and I will once again enjoy cooking and menu planning.
Just so you know, it took a lot of effort to make sure this week’s menu wasn’t entirely made up of recipes involving Parmesan cheese.
