This weeks challenge topic is ‘Fleeting‘
I had started to do these photo challenges to try to get back to photographing things other than my children. Don’t get me wrong, I love taking and having their pictures, I just wanted to broaden my spectra.
However, this weeks challenge speaks of childhood.
Childhood is fleeting. Innocence is fleeting. Being able to find pure joy in the splashing of water is fleeting.
To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.
In a blink of an eye our babies change to toddler; our toddlers turn to teens; and then our teens turn to adults.
Each picture I take is trying to capture that fleeting moment in their lives.

Hi Dawn, its as if i just blinked and my kids are now grown! but then, i praise God that HE has allowed me to have captured beautiful memories of their childhood i can keep in my heart for always 🙂 love your photo … APRIL

You aren’t kidding, Dawn! My 18 year old is graduating this month. I cannot believe it has been 18 1/2 years since I was on a hospital table, looking at her, my first born, through wet eyes! Where does the time GO?

Childhood is fleeting in the eyes of parents. A fitting photo for the challenge.
