Weekly Photo Challenge: The Hue of You

This week’s photo challenge is “The Hue of You

The Hue of me is sunshine and fields of spring time flowers.

But it is October.  And those hues aren’t really available right now.  I know I could have searched my archives for a picture, because I am sure I have lots of those.  But I didn’t want it to be an old picture.

I also didn’t want to take a picture of something else with those colors.  Because the hue of me is more than a synthetic color.

So I decided this week picture should be “The Hue of the Season”

Menu Plan Monday Oct. 14

Here in the Pacific Northwest it rains.  A lot.

So when we get a nice day or weekend we have to take advantage of it.  Because we never know when it will come again.

We had a gorgeous day on Sunday so off to the pumpkin patch we went.  We are scheduled to go to the pumpkin patch with Ian’s school.  I was afraid it might rain that day which would be bad for Baby Sid.

I didn’t want Baby Sid to miss out, so this year we will have two pumpkin patch visits in the scrapbook.

Ian’s favorite thing was this slide, once he tried to climb up it, and so did my little climber Sid.  I am pretty sure Sid would have climbed to the top if I had let him.

Menu Plan 10/14-10/20

Mon: Easy Chicken Noodles (recipe altered to use crock pot)

Tue: Meatloaf and Potatoes

Wed: Sloppy Joe’s with…. what do you eat with sloppy joes’s that are not potatoes? probably just salad

Thr: Crock Post Pesto Ranch Chicken with noodles

Fri: Leftovers

Sat: Kitchen is Closed

Sun: Beef Bourguignon with Cheesy Potato Casserole (hubby’s new favorite side dish)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Carefree

Carefree

Footloose and fancy free

This weeks photo challenge topic is Carefree.

I have always felt carefree during summer.

When I was little I would start the day in my swimsuit and wouldn’t take it off till bed time, if then.  We would spend all day outside, swimming, playing in the sprinkler or in the tree house.  We would go to the park and camping.

We would consume massive amounts of Popsicles.

As I got older the summers turned into me and my future hubby taking off to go camping or a drive to the beach for some surfing.  Well, surfing for him, not me, our coastal waters are too cold for me to get into.

Now that I have children I still love summer time and all that comes with it.

Or teaching Ian to swim ‘all-my-by-self’ in his life jacket

And the fact that Baby Sid is so happy in the water

My mom has always had the perfect yard for a slip n’ slide

And nothing says Carefree like taking a bath outside in a wash tub that has seen every baby bottom in our family

For me Carefree = Summer

Photo Challenge: One Shot, Two Ways

This is for last week’s challenge, which ended today as there is a new challenge.

But…you know, better late then never

It is supposed to be one shot taken at two different directions.  One horizontal and one vertical.

This challenge is two force photographers to think before they shoot.

Back when I used film, you know a gazillion years ago.  My nieces say “film? what is film?” I would have to think a lot about composition.  Wasted film is wasted money.   And wasted time in the dark room.

Now of course I can take a million pictures then pick and choose between the ones I like at a later time.  Of course the down side is less thinking about the shot ahead of time.

I knew I wanted to shoot this building, I just kept not having enough time in the day.  So it took me a little long.

Which one is better?  That would depend on what you want the image to represent…
