Free Halloween Candy Envelope Printable

Ian’s school is having a Halloween party this week.  They are going to do a little trick-or-treat event, so us parents are charged with bringing treats in from our student.

Of course, I couldn’t just bring in some candy.

HalloweenCandy03

I made these cute little candy envelopes.  They fit one Fun Size pack of M&M’s, or similar candy.

HalloweenCandy01

These are perfect for giving to friends or neighbors.

If you would like to download this printable, you can here.

HalloweenCandy02

To assemble: cut out each envelope.  Fold along lines, four sections.

Have child write their name, or other sentiment in the white space on the back.

Tape the candy inside, use a dollop of glue under the pumpkin/skull to secure.

Happy Halloween

A bitter-sweet goodbye

I am a child of summer.

I love the feel of warm sun rays on my face.

I love playing in the water, being on a boat or just sitting outside reading a book.  I love the heat.

Growing up I always said I was born in the wrong region.  This area is not known for it’s nice weather.

I always get depressed when summer ends and the fall, meaning constant rain, begins.  Fall also brings weakened immune systems, the flu, bronchitis, and always being cold.  Have I mentioned how much I hate being cold?

Well, I will now.  I hate being cold!  It is the worst.  OK, I know, there is really no such thing as cold, only the absence of heat.  Just another reason why I love summer; HEAT!

This year is a little harder cause fall also means my baby boy turned one!  And Ian started school! They are growing up right before my eyes!

Here is the kicker.  I love the holidays that come with the cold weather months.  And I couldn’t possible spend a Christmas in an area that doesn’t require me to wear a winter coat.  Or where you don’t have to wear a layer of thermal and waterproof gear under your Halloween costume.

I know crazy right?

I haven’t always LOVED Halloween; I have always enjoyed it, but never really loved it.  Well I do now!

Not just the costumes but all the decorations and fun things.  It is another holiday where creative juices don’t just flow, they burst the dam with tsunami sized waves.

This is even more apparent now that we all have Pinterest.  I can’t believe all the great decorating and costume ideas I have found on there.

Both last year and this year I have let Ian pick out his costumes.  We do this while it is still summer, because if it has to be made, my mom doesn’t want to make it at the last-minute.  I am absolutely amazed how after he makes a decision about his costume he sticks with it.  For months!  Let me remind you that he is three.  It doesn’t matter how many times we look at costumes, once he made up his mind, it is set.

Since Sid is a year old and can’t make these kinds of choices on his own, I picked his costume.  And of course it is in theme with Ian’s.  They are going to be so cute!

Even as I am writing this I am looking forward to all the wonderful things we will be doing this fall and winter.   And I am getting happy and excited.  It doesn’t hurt that today the sun is shining through my window, even if I am freezing.

With not as much sadness as I would have thought, I am saying goodbye to summer and hello to fall.  Even if it means I have to deal with constant rain, wetness and cold.  Even if it means putting away the bikes, pools and lawn chairs and bring out our winter clothes and rain boots.

Halloween Card 2013

I don’t usually do family Halloween cards, but this year I had to.

Ian has had a pair of skeleton jammies ever since he was a baby.  Let me be more clear, each year he gets a pair of skeleton jammies.  He hasn’t had the same pair.

He absolutely loves them and wears them all year-long.

Baby Sid now gets his hand-me-downs, I know the plight of the second child, therefore he now has skeleton jammies too.

Ian really likes it when they  both wear the skeleton jammies together.  So when I got these adorable pictures of them matching, I just knew I had to make a card for Halloween.

I used a quick-page from my favorite digital scrapbook designer, Just So Scrappy, and made these cards that I ordered from Shutterfly.

These boys are just the cutest!
Happy Friday!

Be a Celebrity This Summer! {Guest Post}

Although we are approaching the end of summer Arianna from Arianna Knows Best would like to share with you some ideas on how to have a some celebrity style fun.

It’s amazing that summer is one of the most anticipated seasons of the year, yet it can be a pretty hectic time of year. Throw in a few family trips, and summer is almost as busy as the school year!   My girlfriends and I were daydreaming about escaping to someplace luxurious and serene, where we could work on our tans while sipping on one of those fruity drinks with an umbrella in it.  We thought that with a little creativity we could create lavish getaways right in our own backyards.  We came up with some great celebrity-inspired party ideas that are sure to make us feel like real Hollywood A-listers!

    • Celebrity summer: Album Release Party

If you were Kanye West or Britney Spears, you’d be spending the summer promoting your new album by traveling the world via chartered private jet to exotic locales and attending glamorous, star-studded events.  If you’re actually invited to one of these shindigs, don’t forget your dancing shoes, because you’ll be dancing with the stars all night long!

    • Reality summer: Dance-Off!

Get your talented kids and friends together and create your own dance crew using your backyard as a stage! Split up into teams, pick some music, design costumes and practice.  After the performances, have attendees cast ballots to pick winners in different categories, and award music-themed prizes like iTunes gift cards or headphones!

This annual ceremony hails trend-setting, fashion-forward designers.  Chic, modern fashion stars vie for awards in categories like “Next Future Icon” and “Contemporary Brand of the Year.”  Bloggers, journalists and industry insiders agree that the stars must dress to impress on the red carpet for this event.  Anyone who’s anyone in the fashion industry is sure to make a memorable appearance, donning a hip and stylish frock and dripping in stunning jewels!

Celebrities like Katy Perry and Vanessa Minnillo celebrate their last nights of single lady status in Sin City’s hippest clubs!  But try not to feel too left out, because what happens in Vegas usually ends up in the tabloids, and you’ll get to read all about how these famous party goers celebrated their last nights of freedom!

    • Reality Bachelorette Party: Night on the Town

If the nightlife in your hometown doesn’t have much to offer, you don’t have to travel all the way to Vegas for an exciting bachelorette party!  Just going one or two town’s over gives you enough of a change of scenery to create a memorable event for the bride-to-be.  Dine in an exclusive restaurant for dinner, see her favorite performer in concert, or hit the dance floor at a hot club!  Give her a night that will make her smile every time she thinks about it – at least the parts she can remember!

    • Reality summer: Clothing/Accessory Swap Party

Spruce up your wardrobe and party with your girlfriends.  Have everyone bring gently used or clothing or unworn impulse buys, and have a swap party!  Does your sister have gorgeous taste in shoes?  Trade her a pair for that silk blouse she’s always complimenting.  Sort items into categories like “dresses” and “handbags” for easy browsing!
