Menu Plan Monday March 16th

MSS_MPM

So yesterday (Sunday) I wasn’t sure what I was going to make for dinner.  It was race day and so I knew I wanted something easy.  The race was a 15k, just under 10 miles, which is a distance I usually run on the weekend, but there is so much more energy involved in races.  So I didn’t want anything too complicated.

Turns out it didn’t matter what I planned. We lost power.

As did some 72,000 other people and businesses.  I feel like this brief windstorm was unexpected.  Or at least they didn’t expect it to do so much damage.  Check out this YouTube video of some construction scaffolding being blown down yesterday in downtown.  So needless to say I couldn’t do much cooking.

Luckily my sister made us dinner and let us stay the night so the kids could take a bath and Sid didn’t have to wear pajamas to bed.

He no  longer likes to wear clothes to bed…in fact he didn’t even get dressed on Sat.  When asked he says ‘nope. fine. yiper.’  Which translates to “Nope, I’m fine, I don’t need clothes cause I have my diaper on.”

Unfortunately we now have power again, so I have to continue cooking dinner.  This week will be completely messed up and dinner plans will be changed because T-Ball is supposed to start and I am not really sure how that is going to work.

This kid will be celebrating his 5th birthday this weekend! Where does the time go?

Menu Plan 3/16-3/22

Mon: Parmesan Chicken Bites with noodles

Tues: Lowcountry Smothered Pork Chops with potatoes

Wed: Garlic & Brown Sugar Chicken with orzo

Thr: Open Faced Hamburgers with Mac & Cheese (for the kidos)

Fri: Leftovers

Sat: Kitchen is closed

Sun: Ian’s Birthday, so he gets to pick where we eat

Menu Plan Monday July 7th

I hope this Monday is preceded by a wonderful holiday weekend for everyone.

I know we had a fun exhausting weekend.  It was full of fun, friends, water and sunshine!

We spent our 4th at a friend’s house.  He lives in one of those neighborhoods where the whole block gets together to BBQ and the kids run up and down the street and in and out of everyone’s house.

My kids loved it.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

Our little Historic Downtown opened a new splash pad and I took the boys to try it out on Saturday.

Water. Water everywhere!

Sunday we spent the day at my mom’s house by the pool, which meant we BBQ’d instead of whatever I had planned.

Menu Plan 7/7-7/13

Mon: Bacon Cheese Burger Sliders

Tue: Lemon Chicken Fettuccine

Wed: Bowtie Skillet Lasagna

Thr: Baked Sweet and Sour Chicken (last week carry-over)

Fri: Leftovers

Sat: Kitchen is Closed!

Sun: Loaded Chicken Alfredo Gnocchi Bake

Happy Cooking

Menu Plan Monday Feb 3

I had some epic crock pot failures last week.  OK, so maybe they weren’t epic, but I did have to make a whole new dinner one night.

This week I will not use my crock pot.  I am tempted….

I think Baby Sid is going through a growth spurt.  He is eating nonstop!

After eating, continuously munching, at my sisters all day on Sunday he came home and ate a huge dinner.  More than his brother.

Also on Thursday night last week, I had to help my mom pick up her new floors.  It took too long and my sister got my boys from the sitter and made them dinner.  Baby Sid came home and ate dinner again.

20140202-231049.jpgHe is so cute!  The Hubster was eating dinner and Baby Sid kept begging and stealing bites so I made him a plate.

Menu Plan 2/03-2/09

Mon: Meatloaf and potatoes

Tue: One Pot Chicken Alfredo with garlic bread

Wed: Lowcountry Smothered Pork Chops with Roasted Red Potatoes

Thr:  Make-Ahead Unstuffed Shells

Fri: Left Overs

Sat: Kitchen is closed

Sun: Roast Time

Happy Cooking
