Menu Plan Monday Aug 18th

So this week’s menu plan is pretty sparse.  Which is to say empty.

My hubster is out on a fishing trip and my oldest just had his tonsils out.  So I am cooking for just me and the two-year old.

Can you say ‘no thank you?’

Ian hasn’t really been eating but every once in a while he wants something.  Like waffles.

Sick Boy

I may change it up as the week progress if Ian starts to eat, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Menu Plan 8/18-8/24

Mon: Leftovers

Tue: Tomato soup with cheese tortellini

Wed: leftovers or mac & cheese

Thr: Spaghetti

Fri: Leftovers

Sat: Kitchen is Closed!

Sun: Have not decided

Happy Cooking

Menu Plan Monday Aug 11th

When things go astray I often like to say “oh the best laid plans of mice and men…

I actually had no meal plan last week and so I didn’t do a post about it.  But on Sunday I had sat down and started looking for new recipes for this week’s dinners.  I had to take a break to attend a birthday party.  By the time we got home it was time to feed the boys, start re-heating our leftovers, get the boys cleaned and in bed.  After which I would sit down and write my post for our meal plan.

About the time Sid was falling asleep the power goes out.  In the whole house.  On the whole street. In the whole neighborhood and zip code.

This completely stressed Ian out and gave Sid his second wind.  I had to sit outside in the hall with the doors open to both rooms until they fell asleep.  Or I could have let them get up five hundred times and put them back to bed 501 times.

They are finally asleep and I figure I can start writing.  I go to my computer and the battery has died.  So I just went to bed.  No big deal I will write when I get to work on Monday.  Because I just know you are all waiting on the balls of your feet to hear what I plan to eat for dinner.

That pesky thing called work got in the way.  So here it is on Tuesday and I am just getting around to tell you what we will be having to eat.

Better late than never.  Something else I always say…

These are all new recipes that I wanted to try, so we will be having a lot of chicken this week.  Which I try to mix it up, but they all sounded good.

Menu Plan 8/11-8/17

Mon: BBQ at my mom’s (100 temp means pool side at my mom’s for the kids)

Tue: Smothered Cheesy Chicken Casserole

Wed:  left overs or something equally as easy, like cereal

Thr: Crockpot Bacon Ranch Chicken

Fri: Spaghetti Pie

Sat: Kitchen is Closed!

Sun: Chicken Verde Mac & Cheese

Happy Cooking

Mini-Chalkboard Art

I love chalkboard art.  I love that it can be changed really easily, just erase it and write something new.

The problem I have….

I have horrible handwriting and I can’t draw a stick figure.

Ok, seriously, look at the one on the left, would you want that on your dresser if you were a kid?  Can you say SCAR-RY.  Nothing about it says ‘I love you.’

But I found these super cute little chalkboards at the craft store and a chalk marker and wanted to make something for my son.  So I thought I would turn to my Silhouette Cameo and some vinyl to make a stencil.

I just colored in the lines of the stencil using the chalk marker.  Much cuter, and way easier than writing.

I made two stencils because I have two chalkboards.  There is no way I would have been able to draw this moon by hand.

The marker says it will come off with water, but as you can see with the moon one, it doesn’t really come all the way off if you leave it on for a while.

Ian really likes his little signs, even if he can’t read them yet.  They are super easy to make, and super easy to change the sentiment.

Do you ever feel you need a vacation after  your vacation?

I do. Especially now that I am vacationing with a two-year-old (well almost 2) and a four-year-old.

Wed: Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos

Thr: Bacon Burgers with Bacon Onion Balsamic Jam
