Daily Thanks Day 22

Today, and all days, I am thankful for my family.

My family on Ian’s first Thanksgiving

I am thankful for ALL of my family.  My mom, my dad & step-mom, my grandparents (all of them), my parents-in-law, my brother-in-law, my sister-in-law, my brother, my nieces, my nephew, my cousins, my aunts, my uncles, those who are basically family (you know who you are), my husband and my kids.

But of course I couldn’t forget my wonderful sister, who is always there for me and she is my closest friend.

I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and I am so very thankful for each of them.

I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Daily Thanks Day 15

Today I am thankful for being able to throw my shells on the floor.

Last night after swim lessons we ventured out to dinner with my mom, my sister and her family.  This was our first diaper free outing.

Having to feed the baby, feed Ian, take him to the bathroom, change pants and all the other things I had to handle, I was thankful my mom and sister were with me.

It was nice to be at a restaurant where Ian could unshell peanuts, throw them on the floor and no one cares.

Daily Thanks Day 11

Today, and all days, I am thankful for this kid.

This guy is amazing.  He makes me laugh, he is my world.  The crazy things he does and says makes me wish I was recording him at all times.

I love him more than words can say and everyday I am thankful he is my son.

Daily Thanks Day 10

Today I am thankful for this double chin.

I am thankful not only for the obvious reason of it being a super adorable little face, but also because it means he is getting more than enough nutrition.

At Sid’s two-week check up he had not gotten back to his birth weight.  We had been having some minor breastfeeding issues, but nothing I was concerned about.  My fist son and I had so many nursing problems that I thought this time it was a breeze, comparatively.

Breastfeeding can be difficult and mothers can feel a lot of societal pressure about the ‘ease’ of it.  Even though I had had more than a year of experience we still ran into problems the second time around.  We still have issues but things seem to be a bit better now, and Sid is obviously gaining weight now.

Remember in things like this you can not compare your experience with others, not even with your previous attempts   Each baby is different and will behave differently.
