Daily Thanks Day 18

Today I am thankful for indoor pools at rec. centers.

Yesterday was a typical Pacific Northwest fall day.  Cold, big, thick drops of water falling from dark gray cloud covered skies.

My toddler was getting a bit antsy staying inside so when my cousin called to tell me she was taking her daughter, who is only a week older than Ian, swimming I jumped at the chance to go.

The kids had a blast and burned off tons of energy.  Ian went down the big red slide, but only once.  He didn’t like the fact that we go under water at the end.  He said it scared him, but there was the little kid slide with a shark on it.

Daily Thanks Day 17

Today I am thankful for a big imagination.

I know I have  posted a lot of thanks for my son, but he amazes me almost daily.

Yesterday while making him pancakes he got in to a kitchen drawer to play.  He said my mixer attachment was a tree and the bird cookie cutter was stuck.  In his little voice he took the candy cane cookie cutter and said “don’t worry, I save you.  I to da rescue!  Mama, it a giant candy cane.  I hook birdy, I get baby birdy down, I save him.”

His face just beaming with pride.

I just love his imagination.

Daily Thanks Day 16

Today I am thankful for little kitchen helpers.

Even when they are not so helpful…

Ian enjoys helping me in the kitchen, sometimes his mess is usually worse than mine, but it keeps the peace while I cook.

It is not visible but there is powdered grains all over the counter.  He is such a good helper.

Would you let your toddler help in the kitchen?

Daily Thanks Day 15

Today I am thankful for being able to throw my shells on the floor.

Last night after swim lessons we ventured out to dinner with my mom, my sister and her family.  This was our first diaper free outing.

Having to feed the baby, feed Ian, take him to the bathroom, change pants and all the other things I had to handle, I was thankful my mom and sister were with me.

It was nice to be at a restaurant where Ian could unshell peanuts, throw them on the floor and no one cares.
