Menu Plan Monday Oct. 14

Here in the Pacific Northwest it rains.  A lot.

So when we get a nice day or weekend we have to take advantage of it.  Because we never know when it will come again.

We had a gorgeous day on Sunday so off to the pumpkin patch we went.  We are scheduled to go to the pumpkin patch with Ian’s school.  I was afraid it might rain that day which would be bad for Baby Sid.

I didn’t want Baby Sid to miss out, so this year we will have two pumpkin patch visits in the scrapbook.

Ian’s favorite thing was this slide, once he tried to climb up it, and so did my little climber Sid.  I am pretty sure Sid would have climbed to the top if I had let him.

Tue: Meatloaf and Potatoes

Wed: Sloppy Joe’s with…. what do you eat with sloppy joes’s that are not potatoes? probably just salad

Menu Plan Monday Oct. 7

Baby Sid is pretty determined to feed himself these days.  Which is great for me.

At lest when we are home, cause it can get a tad messy.

He really likes using a fork.

I love using my crock pot.  I love having our dinner cooking while I am at work.  I just have to remember to get it ready in the morning.

This week I am going to try a new recipe (tonight’s dinner).  I usually make a stuffed shell with a tomato sauce and hamburger with fennel, so it has a wonderful spicy flavor.

I decided to try making stuffed shells with chicken alfredo instead.  Then I thought “Why not try it in the crock pot?!” Because I don’t really want to pick up the boys, come home, cook the chicken, then put everything in the oven.  And wait even longer for dinner.

So in the crock pot the chicken alfredo will go, then I will stuff the shells when I get home and bake.  I plan on boiling the shells before work and leaving them in the fridge for the day.  Same for the garlic knot dough.

Of course if you are reading this then I will already have done all that.

Oh the paradox of scheduling a post for some time in the future….

Menu Plan 10/07-10/13

Tue: Crock Pot BBQ Beer Pulled Pork Tacos

Wed: Buffalo Chicken Soup with Salad

It has been said a picture is worth a thousand words.  Hopefully on Wednesday’s I won’t have to write a single one.
