Today is the birthday of Dr. Seuss. I grew up with his books and rhymes, loved every one of them.
Every night Mom would read Big Brother Green Eggs and Ham to the point of him memorizing it, and knowing which lines went with each page. One day, at the age of about 4, they were at the Dr’s office and my brother picked up the book and started to ‘read’ He would turn the page when appropriate and knew all the words. The other mothers in the waiting room were very impressed by such a young kid being able to read. My mom didn’t correct their mistake. 🙂
He had taught us many things. To love trees, and those who have it harder than us, don’t give up, and don’t be afraid to try new things, just to name of few. You will undoubtedly hear one of his saying on most days of your life.
